I am going to use my laptop (Inspiron 8100) for a lecture, and will need to
hook it up to a projector. It will connect through USB. Is this a
plug-n-play thing, or is there any special setup I need to do? I'm assuming
you use the Fn-F8 buttons to switch back and forth, but is that all I need to
know?

Thanks
Scott

Hello Scott

Just a quick note, most projectors have a vga output so all
you really have to do is just use that VGA output and press
FN F4 or F5 and that's it.

Just another note, I agree with Alvin that you should use the VGA
connector if possible. If you decided to go USB, it may or may not work
depending on if Windows already has the driver for your projector built
in. You may want to try it before classes as this is going to be the
best determinant.
