Hi guys,

So I've recently started building my own computer and I noticed that my GTX 560TI requires 2 pcie power connectors. However, my psu, rosewill hive 650w, came with only 1pcie power connectors. The manual said it comes with 2 but I searched everywhere and the set only came with 1.

So with only 1 PCIE connected the fan started working at boot, but my cpu couldn't detect the gpu. Is the issue because I only have 1 PCIE connected when the manual says 2, or did I do something wrong with the installation?

My 2nd PCIE connector is coming soon.

Thanks

rosewill makes beautiful things with terrible parts inside. If it is not too late, then return the product for a real power supply that is really rated for your GPU.

Having the GPU installed on the motherboard will normally turn off the iGPU by default, so you may need to remove the GPU for the onboard video to work (this is not true for all newer mobos though). Either way, all unpowered devices should be removed because the mobo will know that something is plugged in, and will waste time trying to figure out what is going on.

Hooking up only one power connector can damage your GPU, so unplug it immediately, and do not use it again until you have all of the proper connectors.

I see, would it be ok for me to run it with the PCIE power connector removed or should I remove the whole GPU?

The GPU came with 2 power cable but it doesn't fit in the slot and has a molex attached (which I hate)

Is the reason why my GPU is not being detected and not showing up in the device manager because it only has 1 connector?

my hive 550w came with 2, so rosewill mustve had some packaging error
