I was wondering if the only type of UV lighting source was the typical "black light" which is the purple light. Or do the blue red green etc.....cold cathode tube lighting put out UV lighting to make the UV reactive fans and accesseries light up also?
Thanks
Matthew

Ultraviolet or "black light" does not come in any other colors....
The UV Reactive chemicals inside the coolant only react to UV light.

Yup - Mad-dog is right, UV (Longwave UV to be exact - somewhere around 395nm in wavelength) is just on the edge of the visible light spectrum. to folks lke us, it would appear a dim-purple. but its actually super intense so dont look directly into it

The other colors you will find are the items that are reactive to UV, such as sleeve wrapping, connectors, fans, and paint. UV is a type of light, but it's the UV-reactive objects themselves that throw out the different colors.

Have fun :) UV-lit rigs are pretty sweet looking.

ok so to make the items glow that claim to be UV sensative...I need to put the purple "black light" in there right? thanks for the info guys
