V.92 PCI modem problem

i installed a v.92 pci modem, os winXP, the problem: first, everytime i
restart the computer, i have to reinstall the modem drivers from the cdrom.
then after i manage to get online, after two to three minutes, i get an error
message.

windows/system32/lsass.exe
status code 1073741818

and then the system automatically shuts down. i have no problems until i
connect , and everything else seems to work fine.

please help!

Recommend a controller based modem with XP. No WinModems, Soft, or
controllerless.
Checkout www.usr.com - Modem 101 for the differences between them and why a
controller based modem is better.
