Pc specs:
i5 750 1st gen
GTX 550ti 1gb DDR5
10gb 1333mhz ram 2x4gb 1x2gb
MSI P55-GD61 1156 MOBO 4ram slots
getting an average of 70-80fps in valorant when the battle is less graphics (like for example, the battle is gun vs gun) while I'm getting fps drop (dropping to 50-60fps) when there is so much graphics (like viper's ultimate, raze utilities etc.)
I'm planning to upgrade my cpu from i5 750 to Xeon x3470 4c/8t (equivalent to i7 870). will my fps increase? i want to get 150fps+ with only a budget pc parts.

a Nehalem CPU is obsolete for the game, you wont get near competitive fps on that game. If you want to get a good budget part, go Find a Gigabyte/Asrock B75/B75M any series and pair them with Xeon E3 1240 V2, and run the ram...

If you want to get a good budget part, go Find a Gigabyte/Asrock B75/B75M any series and pair them with Xeon E3 1240 V2, and run the ram at 2x4gb only. IPC Jump from 1st gen to 3rd gen intel core series is pretty much alot, thats why E3 1240 V2 (i7 3770 w/o igpu) is pretty much bang for the buck cpu.

For gpu, a GT 1030 would be much better or a minimum 750/750Ti is ok, since they support the latest nvidia driver for valorant optimization. Also adding a little note: Valorant is abit unoptimized on old cpus somehow, i usually got 200fps avg on all low, but today i got max 160fps avg on all low.

First off, your issues is the GPU being too weak, NOT the cpu/ram. Also your running ram on single instead of dual channel, always use same model ram either 2 or 4 sticks , never 1 or 3. Remember to install them in right slots, slot 1+3 or slot 2+4. So remove that 1x2gb stick and install 2x4gb sticks in dual channel

Something like gtx 780 or 970 used would be sweet spot for this setup. Your also fine with 770 or 960 if budget is a problem. I never had 10 or 20 series gpu so for that advice you need to ask someone else.

LGA1156 is not obsolete for atleast minimum 144fps gaming (competitive) for fortnite. I used to get 300 fps on i7-875k but season after season it drops, now with x3470 which is practically same chip (xeon have better binning so go for xeon instead of i7-870) than i7-875k im getting around 175-225fps. For valorant and csgo /overwatch getting more fps is easier with these cpu:s.

From my experience P55-GD61 is not one of best for overclocking, but still decent i had few of these. Getting to 3.8ghz -3.9ghz on all cores is surely possible.

For Overclocking ====> x3470 > x3450 > i7-875k > x3440 > i7-870 from the 4c 8thread ones

If you want to save money just get x3440 instead its still 4c8t but considerebly cheaper, around 10$-15$, if you dont want to overclock then go for i7-870 or x3470.

Below is my results with x3470, you wont get it to 4.3ghz without delidding:

I have
XEON x3450 @stock
DDR3 8gb dual channel 1333mhz
GT710 2GB GDDR3 OC

I play on 720p all low and i get like 144fps on picking,90-100fps avg on unrated depends on the map and with no frame drops with discord on the background

A GTX 550ti is slower than even a GT 1030. Simple solution, that gives you upgrade options would be a Ryzen 5, 5600g, 16gb ram, and a B550 board. A new PSU may also be needed, depending on make/model, and age of your current one.

If you want to spend even less, then yea a drop in, compatible, i7 or equivalent Xeon should help at least in min FPS.

Yup, or get an i3 10100f + b560 board + 2x4 or 2x8gb ddr4 ram, and use that gpu while waiting for the gpu price came down, or alternative, get a r7 350 if it's available, r7 260x/360, gt 730 ddr5 ones, gtx 650 and above, if you want to dirt cheap on gpu while waiting for gpu price to came down, it'll help in the cpu performance by much (while the gpu will be the obselete bottlenecking)

The reason I suggested the 5600g, is the IGP is faster than their current card, and is receiving driver updates, as their old card is not.
