many PC laptops (hate using this term as MB's are now PC's as well) aren't that thick
i'll agree most of the laptop's are plastic, if you don't like it whatever.
About the intel integrated GPU, why not look a little pricier (not the cheapo $500 range), you can get a decent card in the $700 range (as in as good as the MBP)
my laptop has only the stickers i wanted on it (Intel i7 and ATI 5650)
my track is actually pretty big, though i have seen a lot of smaller ones, though i always carry a mouse (that answers the who wants to carry a mouse, me)

actually no, sometimes the hardware isn't the same, ie you can't get a 1080P screen (1680x1050 at most, and you have to pay extra for matte). The Core i7-620m is the best cpu you can get (btw, its a dual core), where as i have a core i7-720qm (yeah, a quad core), and worse is that bad graphics you get with the MBP the GT330m

usability is the same, they are laptops (and don't say weight, PC laptops weigh about the same, maybe quarter pound heavier), the quality is decent but that can be found in the PC market as well

Like I said before, their the exact same commodity HW. Laptops typically are customized by OEM's due to their extremely compact nature. But the OEM's do not make the actual HW, those are instead made by various other companies and exclusively sold to the original OEM for a particular model. Apple doesn't actually make the components of its MacBook line, their made by third party manufactures then assembled at the Apple plant and stamped with the big fruit logo.

Nothing *special* or *creative* involved. I live in South Korea, there are already dozens of laptops available out here that are the same size / weight as the MB air and are cheaper to boot. Japan also has a bunch of crazy small things. The entire "pro" line of anything Mac is a crazy ripoff. They tried to make it look like a "workstation" for the home user, except the things you need a workstation for are best suited with different HW and Linux / Windows and are available for cheaper.

Macs are good for quick and easy web browsing, word processing, simple stuff etc.

PCs are good for gaming on top of everything that a Mac can do.

Macs do have a much quicker boot time on HDD (dunno about PCs on SSD) which is a plus also its a closed system which streamlines alot for the average consumer (average intelligence not wallet ;P)

The cases of people getting viruses from PCs are usually the ones that are computer illiterate and don't know what not to click (no citation). Macs on the other hand rarely, but do get viruses simply because viruses are usually not programmed to attack Macs.

I use a gaming PC for gaming, video editing, photo editing, and other CPU/GPU intensive stuff, while I use my Mac kinda like a netbook to be frank 😛.
