To me it's funny Steam started as service to bring Counter-Strike players together and provide much better and faster server browser. It was bumpy road to say the least but they succeed. Hands down best server and online game browser I've seen. Now they provide you with not only online games... but this one do not require you to be online outside of activation time. This is as small DRM as you can get. Look at blizzard that tells you to use online service to play their single player games.
What is this talk about start up time of steam it launches in less than 10s and you can have it launch with the system turning that time to 0... so where is the problem. Unless you turn on PC only to play games.
