Vantec ez swap ex power requirement question

I am installing a vantec ez swap ex in my car and am just wondering what exactly is needed power wise in order to run it ? Is the 12v a nessecity or can I simply run a ground and a 5v line to the enclosure and be done ? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Usually disk drives use 12VDC. I would think you would need it and 5VDC.
