Vengeance Pro RAM

I have an AMD Radeon FX 6300 and an Asus M5A97 EVO R2. I bought 8gb of 1600 mhz Vengeance Pro RAM, in it's description it says its made for overclocking on 4th generation intel motherboards and processors, I was wondering whether I should exchange it for normal Vengeance none Pro RAM because it might not work on my system, could any if you guys tell me whether it would work or not, Thanks in advance

If you wont be overclocking high, you can very well get the normal Vengeance version.
Also it doesnt mean that it says made for overclocking on 4th gen intel boards doesnt mean you cant use on AMD boards. But I doubt you would be able to take full advantage of its overclocking potential.

Thanks, so your saying it will work fine in my system at 1600 mhz but if I later on down the road if I wanted to overclock the RAM it might not reach its full potential

you may be able to get it to run 1866 max. my 1866 I cant get it to run any higher but my board doesnt support over 1866 which is weird. try setting your timings to 9-10-9-27 which is the vengeance 1866 timings

Overclocking on the RAM depends on the CPU and mobo as well. So that is the reason I said.
