A guy in the forum at the ORB has had AMD's Venice now for a couple of days and according to him and some others 4 sticks of RAM will not work with this setup. Does anybody know whats up with this?

First I've heard of it. Winnies downclock to 333 with 4 sticks, but they still run and you can OC to stocl or higher. The real question is why get 4 sticks?!

That would be tradition with AMD's integrated memory controller.

That is basically what some of the guys in the ORB are thinking. Isnt Venice the next next power house for AMD?

In one of the posts the guy with the Venice sadi it just kept beeping so there may be some hope. I doubt I'll ever stick 4X512 into one, but that would be great for anyone that wanted too...

We didn't have a spectacular day - we got 7 flounder and one redfish. The wind was kickin our arses, but any day of fishin STILL beats a day at work!

Yea, I hope you have a better link. that guy
Whoa guys just wait until a Venice gets into the hands of someone who either knows what he is doing or has 4x512 sticks of the same ram. I am just saying that it is not working for me but I am a terrible oc'er right now. I will say that OPP told me it is a very nice chip. Maybe later you guys can give me some tips on overclocking and I will try and get this bitch screaming. Right now I cant seem to get the Raid working.
cant even set up a raid array. Sort of like saying my A64 is crap because a monkey cant find the on button.

One of the other post was also in the ORB, but I cant seem to find it. Ive been looking for it, but I ahve also been engaged in semi-hot flame war with some clown so that hasnt helped. There are three different ones, the third is on another website. I will post it as soon as I run across it again.

Thanks for the info. Maybe someone here will buy one and let us know for sure. At this point im not convinced enough either way. I keep saying that im going to give AMD a try, but I think that I will kick back and watch for now.
