Question Very interesting issues, potentially GPU, PSU, or Mobo??

I've had minimal GPU (2080 Super ROG White OC) issues, I think more than most but not too bad, I had to RMA my first GPU, got a new one sent, it's been fine until about a month ago where it started artifacting and just not working, long story short it kinda fixed itself, all I did was change the power supply cables and it magically fixed (this is well needed context dw). Cut to a couple weeks ago, I started getting an NVMe error. (I've had this same NVMe (Samsung 980 Pro) for about a year to a year and a half now) To be more clear, it was a stornvme error. I tried troubleshooting for a long time to no avail, I have a spare system so I took the nvme out to try it, the nvme is behind my GPU, so I unplugged my GPU from the PSU, took it out of the slot, replaced it as normal, should be okay right? Wrong. All of the sudden, my PC goes to login screen, then black screens, since this issues has happened before, I tried the same tweaks, nothing happened. So anyways, about that nvme. Tested it on the spare system and it works perfectly fine so that wasn't even the main priority anymore, because now my GPU is acting crazy. Everytime I try to install the nvidia drivers to my GPU, it crashes as soon as the driver is loaded, when I use DDU to uninstall it, the system works as usual but as soon as I try to download the driver, it crashes. I take the GPU out, put it in my spare system, same thing happens. Which leads to more questions then answers.

In conclusion, I need input from fellow PC folks. I will provide anything necessary. The event ID's for the nvme error fall exactly under this: https://www.reddit.com/r/gigabyte/comments/m3z89u/2nd_nvme_random_desconection_crashes_pc_this/
(I apologize btw if links aren't approved and also for me being insanely scatterbrained)

Specs:
CPU: i7-9700k
GPU: 2080 Super ROG Strix White OC
Mobo: Z390 Aorus Elite
PSU: Seasonic 750 Gold
M.2s: OS is on a Western Digital, issues are happening with Samsung 980 Pro
PC was built in around April-May in 2020 with minor additions over time

Update: Now everything is working perfectly fine as if nothing went wrong, I will keep this forum updated for my own sake.

Just spitballing but, does the NVMe slot share bandwith with the PCIe? Or the CPU?
You removed the NVMe drive, so a trip to BIOS for some tweaks may be necessary. Although i admit that would not explain the driver issues or why it acts crazy in another system.

Why did this issue happen before? And what are the tweaks you tried to fix it?

I'm pretty sure that it only affects SATA 4 and 5, I could be wrong though because I've wondered the same thing, it also leads to another question of why did the NVMe work fine for approximately a year and then randomly the PCIe slot took the bandwidth? I've also tweaked my BIOs a bit but I just ended up going back to default settings during troubleshooting.

The only issue that happened before was the GPU issue and all I did was changed the PSU cables and that fixed it, I tried that this time and it didn't work so my hope was lost that I'd be lucky again 😣 I also never came to a conclusion of why it happened, that why I came to this forum cause I'm just begging for help and answers tbh 😭

If the GPU is acting crazy in two different PCs, then it is likely borked. Is it still under warranty? If you got it last month you should be able to return it. If your GPU is artifacting and now also refusing to work, you should get a replacement.

The M.2 slots can share bandwith with the CPU (and draw power from there but that's not important), or the PCIe slots (and the chipset side of the motherboard, not CPU).
But this seems irrelevant because you say the drive works fine.

I plan on RMAing the GPU, it just has a mind of its own. Yep, that's the insane thing about the issues I'm having, as of right now, everything is working 100 percent okay like nothing happened and I can't wrap my head around it. I wish PCs were just like ayo, you need to replace this part, but that's the beauty about it I guess 😩
