[SOLVED] Very low end z370 MOBO, should i upgrade to Z390 Aorus elite mobo?

My current build is an 8700K , GTX 1080TI, 3200 gskill RAMM 16gb, with 750 psu, and 280 evga clc.

I have a GIGABYTE Z370 XP sli MOBO and I'm trying to overclock my CPU to 5GHZ. I did some research and found out i only have a 8 phase VRM. The mother board i have ios kinda bare bones and doesn't match the rest of my components. The new AORUS Z390 elite has 12 phase vrm.

Will the additional VRM help me with a stable OC to 5.0 GHZ? Will the additional VRM help with a cooler CPU temp also?

It won't affect temps at all. Possibly could help get it stable but typically as long as the vrms aren't throttling then it shouldn't make much of a difference

CPU lotery... don't think that with a better motherboard miracles will happen. May help but not heaps, unless you plan to use extreme cooling.

At what temps do VRMS throttle and how do i monitor them?

A 750w psu? What make/model? Crappy psus put out a lot of noise in their DC ripple, which can and does affect higher OC clock stability to some extent.

Some boards have sensors that hwinfo can pick up some don't but the best way to tell is to stress test and monitor CPU speeds. If the cpu slows down when the temps are okay then it's usually a vrm throttle

@Karadjgne i do have a cheap psu that came with the ibuypower pc. I have ordered a new EVGA supernova G3 750 gold psu. I hope that will help a l;little bit

A lot. That's a very good psu. Little overkill, you could use a good 650w, but 750w will work nicely. Especially with OC.
