Very Odd re: ad links

Does anyone else have an ad link tied into a word or phrase in their profile?

I just clicked on my name "mumra" to see my profile and noticed that one of the words has that well known THG html/underlined/ad link on it.

Weird. Are these sometimes generated on the site randomly, like RPG monsters!!?

I think I’ll just pretend because I’m so flocking cool, THG is making big bucks off all the people looking at my profile. Uh, yeah right. Actually, it looks like the message board has these links on them now.

I forget what they're called. But, it's a general add link that shows on any number of given words or phrases anywhere in the site. Like I had G5 come up with a Mac link, even though i was talking 'bout Logitech's mouse. Not the coolest thing in the world, but yeah, those things are everywhere.

They're called (at least in some places) adwords. A little applet or some program scans the page (after it has loaded I think) and links up random words to ads in its database.
