Very poor FPS in CS:GO/TF2 on a PC that should be able to run them.

Over the last couple of months, I've noticed a significant FPS drop when I try and run CSGO. It started gradually and has slowly got worse, to the current stage where I won't get above 60 even with all settings on minimum, and the resolution at 1280x720.

I can run other games suitably well, if not completely smooth.

Specs are as follows:

64bit Windows 7
Processor: Intel core i5-2330 @ 3.00 GHz
Installed memory: 8GB
Graphics: AMD Radeon HD 6670
PSU: 230 watts (<-- I'm thinking that this could be an issue)
250GB of 1.8TB space free.

I know other people with a very similar setup who are getting far higher fps than me even with default or higher settings.

This is very frustrating as it's preventing me from playing as well as I'd like...

Any ideas?

Cheers.

In addition to the possibility (likelihood) of replacing the PSU with a quality unit (greater than 450 watt), you could also hat a related heat issue. What is your CPU and GPU operating temperatures at idle and under load?

BTW, I recommend Seasonic, Corsair, and XFX PSUs. Ones like there will meet your needs:

Issue occurs most noticeably with TF2 and CSGO, but I have noticed a slight drop in a number of others too. Certainly nothing as bad, though.

Certainly keeping my eyes open for one that I can put in, hopefully should iron out at least a bit of the issue if not all of it.
