Hey everyone, I've been having problems with my computer for a couple of months and i can't find a way to fix it.

This is my setup:

  • Motherboard: MSI B550-A PRO ATX
  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600
  • RAM: Corsair vengeance LPX 16GB (2x 8GB) DDR4 3600mhz
  • GPU: PNY NVIDIA T400 2GB GDDR6
  • SSD: Samsung 970 EVO Plus NVMe m.2
  • HDD: Seagate BarraCuda, 4 TB
  • PSU: Corsair RM550x
  • Monitor: ASUS TUF Gaming VG289Q 28” 4K

The problems I'm encountering:

  1. Sometimes while i'm using the computer the screen suddenly becomes of a solid color (any color) and everything stops working. The computer remains on but i can't do anything
  2. Sometimes when i turn on the computer i get 1 long beep and 2 short ones. That's the beep code i get when i turn on the computer with no GPU plugged in.
  3. Sometimes i get no beeps but the vga led on my motherboard turns on. When this happen if i press (and not hold) the power button the computer turns off right away.
  4. Sometimes the computer turns on normally, it displays the 'press f2 for bios etc' window, it starts loading windows (little spinner appears), and then nothing happens. I get a black screen.
  5. Sometimes when i click on an app i get a "This App Can’t Open. Check Windows Store For More Info" error. Not sure if this problem is related to those i mentioned above, but i had never seen it before. Maybe something in the OS got corrupted while turning it on and off over and over.
These problems occur mostly in the morning (as if it's not weird enough already), after i powered off the PC for the night. If i turn it off and right back on it works with no problems.

I tried the following solutions:

  • Tried a different GPU: same problem occurred.
  • Removed the CMOS battery for x minutes and plugged it back in: sometimes it solved problem #3
  • Turned on the PC with no CMOS battery: once it solved problem #3
  • Bought and tried a different CMOS battery: solved problem #3 (once)
  • Changed GPU slot: no problem solved.
  • Tried a different monitor: no problem solved.
  • Tried a different display port cable (HDMI included): no problem solved.
  • Turned on the PC with 1 ram stick: no problem solved.
  • Turned on the monitor before turning on the PC: solved problem #3 once (i guess this was the reason?)
  • Unplugged hdd, fans, ssd, and plugged them back in: sometimes it solved problem #3
  • Tried to turn hibernate the PC Instead of turning it off at night and in the morning it worked right away. Yesterday I set it to hibernation mode when I went to sleep, and this morning it gave me problem #2 (3 beeps). But then I turn on the monitor and it suddenly worked without even restarting the computer.
  • Hold the power button for some seconds while the computer is off: sometimes it solved problem #3
  • Resetted the BIOS using the jumpers near the BIOS battery: sometimes it solved problem #3
  • Updated the BIOS version: no problem solved.
  • Updated GPU driver: no problem solved.
  • Ran scannow /sfc in PowerShell: no problem solved.
Sometimes the PC just 'magically' works after a while that i give up trying. I try to power it on and it works.
The computer looks brand new, i clean it like once a week, so it's not a dust issue.
The problems that I didn't mention in the solutions above happen less frequently, and they just go away while I'm unplugging and plugging back components.
Sometimes i'm able to turn on the PC by simply repeating the solutions above.

I don't know what to do anymore. I think It's a motherboard's issue. i was thinking about reinstalling windows (for problem #5) but I think it has nothing to do with these problems. I'm a bit tight on a budget and I wouldn't like to buy a new motherboard.

Question:

Do you guys have any idea on how i can fix these problems? I'm giving up. If you think it's a motherboard's issue, do you have any recommendations for a new one? I was thinking about buying one of the following motherboards if i really had to (under 140€ on amazon.it):
  • MSI MPG B550 GAMING PLUS ATX
  • MSI B550-a pro (the one i have already)
  • ASUS PRIME B550-PLUS
  • ASUS TUF GAMING A520M-PLUS II (cheapest one but i don't know if it's good enough. I don't play videogames for now..)
Thank you in advance
