VGA on GTX 1080 with 1920x1200 support?

I have a GTX 1080 which doesn't support analog signal, so I bought a Display Port to VGA adapter and I can only get 1080p out of it which gives me black bars that take up a huge portion of the screen.

No matter how hard I search on Google, I cannot find a single VGA to HDMI, VGA to Display Port, or VGA to DVI-D adapter that actually supports 1920x1200 resolution. All of them secretly support 1080p and not 1920x1200, despite being listed as 1920x1200.

Is there anything I can do outside of stretching the screen? Thanks.

Uh, you shouldn't want a VGA signal going through a GTX 1080 in the first place. I suggest a new monitor.

You wont be able to achieve what you want resolution and refresh rates wise with that setup.

DITCH THE VGA.

Vga is an analog signal, when using a converter to DP you are dropping that signal down and need a proper Analog to Digital converter. No matter what your screens limits and capabilities will be capped at that of VGA connections.

Actually, VGA has been proven to support 1920x1200 resolution at 75hz on another video card setup so your information there is incorrect. Also, with my current Analog to Digital converter, I can get 75hz on 1080p.

My card supports Display Port, DVI-D, and HDMI. The goal is to hit 1920x1200 resolution instead of 1920x1080.

My monitor only supports VGA and BNC connectors.

If you have no idea what you're talking about, please do not enter the discussion. Until OLED is mainstream, this monitor will not be outdone by any LCD on the market and I currently own an IPS Quantum Dot display anyway, which also doesn't compare to this monitor.

Ok, i just read about it on overclock.net where some CRT fanboys had a flame war in the forums back in 2012. Apparently those things lose image quality over time, but have better viewing angles than flat screens and better response times than TNT panels.. Don't most smart phones have higher resolution than that thing nowadays?

Create a Custom work Resolution using your video driver software.
Also, is your DIGITAL to ANALOG converter ACTIVE or PASSIVE?
Its going to be extremely difficult trying to push 1920x1200 over that VGA
Your 100% best option to get the resolution you want would be to utilize the VGA BNC connectors, they allow the highest end video quality and resolutions through VGA

Mine is still in great condition and it's a professional 1920x1200 16:10 widescreen one at that. The guy who previously owned it payed 3,000$ MSRP for it. This isn't those lanky consumer CRT models. 😛

I'm not a fanboy of CRTs or any display, I'm just striving to get the best possible experience for gaming I can muster on my budget and I've purchased 500$ BenQ and Asus monitors and they just don't compare to this thing. For me, I'm waiting for OLED.

I'm actually more than happy with 1920x1200 resolution since I mainly play Japanese games anyway like One Piece, Naruto, and Dolphin Emulator.

Use an active DVI-D to VGA adapter instead of display port. Here's a couple with 1920x1200 support.

If you are setting the resolution in the nvidia control panel 1920x1200 will not be an option under the Ultra HD, HD, SD section you'll need to scroll down under PC to get the option for 1920x1200. Infact you may want to try this with your current adapter as I am seeing many DP to vga adapters that support 1920x1200 like the DVI-D adapters.
