VGA to USB adapter not working for dual displays

Hey all,
I recently bought a vga to usb adapter so I could connect my second monitor to my computer. I built this computer myself on a budget and I ended up skimping on a graphics card, stupid I know but I did and as a result my graphics card does NOT support dual monitors. and by pretty damn annoying coincidence my motherboard has 0 video ports of any kind from what I know of. Motherboard is ASUS M5a97 R2.0 EVO. I connected my monitor to the usb converter and plugged it in, however it is not outputting to my monitor nor is the computer even detecting the second display. I installed what I believe to be the correct drivers however I am not sure since I bought it as a no-name from an ebay seller. does anyone know why my monitor isn't being detected? al help is greatly appreciated.

Could be that the USB adapter is not the best. Buying from a no-name eBay person is not always worth it. But what is the brand, you want to make sure drivers are right.

I installed the displaylink drivers
any others I should try?

You need drivers from the brand itself.
