I'm running out of space on my C drive (1TB NVMe M.2 SSD) and I found a file in the root folder called VHUSB.IMG that is 30GB! Does anyone know what this is and is it safe to delete?

Thanks in advance!

.IMG files are kind of like .ISO files and other types of virtual drive containers. Double click on it to add it to Explorer. If this works, it will show up in "This PC" as a new drive. What does it contain? When done, "Eject" it by right clicking on the drive. If it's something that you recognize, and that you've previously done on your PC, and you know it's no longer needed, delete it.

Else, make a temporary copy of it onto a flash drive. Then try to rename the file. If you can't, reboot and try again. Then leave it there (renamed) for a day or two. If you have no other PC issues, delete it because it's not being used. If issues pop up, rename it back to it's original filename and continue from there. Keep the copy on the flash drive for a few weeks.

Thanks for your suggestions. I tried double-clicking on it as well as right-clicking and selecting "Mount" and both gave me an Image Corrupted error message. I then renamed it and rebooted. No issues with that so I moved it over to a different drive with plenty of space where I can afford to hang on to it for awhile just to be safe 😁
