I have a small question about the gigabit lan of the Via KT880 chipset.
In the chipset layout it has a straight link to the SB with has a high speed V-link to the northbridge. Does this mean it has a True gigabit connection (something like Intel CSA lan) or is it still just a PCI controller, and thus limited in it's speed?
I'm looking for true gigabit for a fileserver, and the best sofar is the CSA gigabit lan of the i875P. If this would reach the same speeds (or at least be very close) it might be a better option in terms of price.
Put brain in gear before engaging mouth.
