Hello everybody, i have a problem with my video card... somebody save me!

I have a Leadtek px6600 GT TDH 128 megabit PCI-Express video card, and just until recently its been working fine. As of now whenever i try to boot up a 3d game, the screen is like 50% scattered clear images, and 50% scattered pixels, so it looks quite messy. The framerate and parts of the resolution are still good, but theres big pixels everywhere.

can somebody help me with this?

🙁

do you have active or pasive cooling......?
did you oc-ed it?
do you have suplimentary power cord?
did you reinstalled the os or updated the drivers?
does this problem appear in all games?

need details please...anyway it looks like a video memory corruption or overheating problem

-im guessing i have active cooling meaning it always being on.
-Its never been overclocked but it has been stressed with playing games for long peroids of time..
-havent tried re-installing the os yet, i have removed and updated the driver, nothing yet
-yes it appears in all games

hmmm

ihmmmm.......anyway it worths trying to reinstall..maybe is an os problem, but i doubt......

your problem as you described it sounds like a memory problem ..... or overheating problem.........open you case and see whether your cooler stucked...it could be stucked with dust.......
if not the case check whether your cooler (aluminium radiator) is properly seated on you gpu die pad........

i hope is a dust problem or coolers getting stucked

Hi,
I've had two video cards die on me due to heat problems (hercules radeon 9800pro, Leadtek geforce5900), and both started to display aspects of the problem u just described before they packed it in.

If its in all games and updating the drivers hasnt helped, I would suggest, if its an option for you, putting another video card in (borrow one from a friend for a day) to check- its good to be sure.

Also, in readiness, i dont know what kind of warranty that manufacturer offers but u should check to see if u have the original receipt, and poke about in the manual to find their contact information. RMA-ing is a real bitch but at least u get ur card replaced/repaired for free.

Good luck, hope im wrong.
