Hi, I'm pulling my hair out over this. So I want to run my PC (Win 10) through HDMI, through my Denon AVR-1912 amp and from there to my TV. It used to work fine, sometimes intermittent, but I got the video and 5.1. I've bought a new TV and now I've got problems with the video. When I turn the PC on I get the loading screen (Asus logo, telling me to press Del or F2 and a spinning wheel), then it goes blank and I get a message on the screen saying no video. I have plugged straight in to the TV and it works fine. Just not through the AMP. I have swapped cables with ones I know work, inputs on AMP I know work. Everything else runs fine (I also have Chromecast and PS4 running through the AMP). Any suggestions? My graphics card is an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670.

*Edit: I uninstalled all Nvidia drivers and restarted PC. The desktop came up through the amp at low res for about 1 minute then I think it re-enabled the Nvidia driver and I lost the video again

OK I've got somewhere..... So I got a DVI-HDMI converter and hooked up a second monitor to the PC. Connected the PC direct to the TV and set the second monitor to mirror the TV.... as per previous suggestion. Powered down. Re-booted with PC going through receiver. No signal on the TV however second monitor was working fine. Selected change resolution on Nvidia CP and it found the Denon receiver but it had the resolution set at 4k. I changed that to 1080p and it then worked through the TV!! However, the second monitor has now 'unmirrored' itself and is now an extension. I powered down, unplugged the second monitor and re-booted - no go. Lost signa on the TVl. Plugged the second monitor back in and it just started flashing and doing stupid things with the desktop image like minimizing and enlarging windows. No signal on the tv. Re-booted - nothing. So I followed the same steps as above - plugged PC straight to TV. Set second monitor to mirror. Powered down. Plugged in to receiver. Re-booted and again the Denon was set to 4k. So I changed the res again and this is where I'm sitting.

I currently have it working with the second monitor as an extension of the desktop to the TV, the TV running through the receiver. Any suggestions? Feel like we're almost there......

All good mate. Damn i thought I had it then. Was working fine. Turned off the pc... disconnected the second monitor and it powered on through the amp all good. Even tested the surround sound and that was fine. Changed inputs on the receiver to ps4 and when I changed back the signal had gone. Going back through the second monitor thing again now.

No the Denon is fully up to date. So this is annoying. When I got it working I unticked the second monitor under 'displays you want to use' to see if the tv would carry on working, which it did. Turned off the PC, unplugged the second monitor, turned back on. All working. Brilliant. Turned it off and on a few times and all good. Changed the input on the receiver to watch something else and when I went back to the PC input it said no signal. So I've tried doing what worked before, plugging the PC straight in to the TV and mirroring the second monitor. Turned it off, swapped the PC to the receiver, however now the second monitor wont come on and I have no signal from the receiver. Suggesting to me that the TV is still trying to pull a 4k signal through the receiver, and whereas before I went on the second monitor and changed the resolution to 1080p, I now can't because when the receiver and second monitor are connected the second monitor is turned off by the PC!!! AGGGHHH!!! So now it looks as though I'll have to re-install the driver just to clear that and use the second monitor again.

So I think the issue is that the TV keeps trying to pull a 4k signal through the receiver and the receiver cannot handle it. So to solve this I believe a new receiver is in order. Which the misses has other ideas about

I would honestly just split the audio & video through different outputs mate as I suggested earlier.

As I said its probably not the ideal solution but its going to save you $300 on a new reciever.

Youccan dk that either from the nvidia card itself OR if you have an an igp & realtek onboard audio & an hdmi output on your board you can use that for audio instead.
Any realtek chipset post 2012 will support up to 9.1 audio.

Can do what madmatt30 has suggested

But the TV isn't pulling the receiver, it doesn't work like that although it seems with the way things are, there is a mixup in your pc or receiver and the signal stops there.

What it sounds like is Windows10 / Nvidia, every time you sit the pc directly to the TV and set it to 1080p, somehow it changes back to 4k once you've either restarted or disengaged hdmi by unpluging or changed channel.

Thats why i suggested changing resolution in windows rather than nvidia in case nvidia isn't holding for whatever reason.

I had to split my audio video when upgrading to a 4k tv myself on my htpc.

Running a sony str-dh820 reciever which while it will support 4k in passthrough auto standby mode ,if switched on to use the surround audio (which is what its for) will only support 1080p & I get out of limits resolution error.

So I now run the gtx 970 to the tv via hdmi & the audio from the board hdmi to the reciever.
Yes theres 2 cables & If I want to swich audio from tv to reciever or vice versa (I dont use the surround setup all the time) I have to manually change audio playback device it really is no great hassle at the end of the day.
Certainly not enough to upgrade what is a very very good audio system

Thats audio from a standard h61 sandybridge setup - supports 7.1 & dolby atmos 9.1 home audio & all the relevant dolby formats you're likely to actually need.

Not really sacrificing anything quality or capability wise there.

I think you're in exactly the same boat as me with that denon , its similar spec , same era , doesn't support 4k.

To me your tv isnt physically switching native resolution , it simply upscales lower res signals to 4k.

When you're connected via a reciever that is creating issues.

Hard to find viable info simply because that tv is a fairly generic brand with no real support or info available
