Huh? All I use is Dice and VLC on my Android for my videos. Can even stream from your home NAS so you can be your own Netflix.

[citation][nom]zingam_duo[/nom]That one has shitty sound! A few bugs... Cannot play some quicktime movies properly. It is the best in its category but far from perfect.[/citation]
If you can't get quicktime movies to play properly or it has poor sound its a problem with either your codecs, your sound settings in windows or just user error. VLC has nothing to do with that.

[citation][nom]anti-painkilla[/nom]Agreed, because it is easier to re-download than find the installer on another comp. I love VLC but still use wmp, because it is a resource hog and plays vids properly while folding.[/citation]
VLC is a resource hog? I use it while folding and it only uses 1-4% 😉

[citation][nom]dgingeri[/nom]I've downloaded it twice, and still don't use it. It's nice and all, but missing quite a few features that I use. It's useful for playing certain types of files that media player doesn't play, though.[/citation]

People always make this type of comment; what features are missing? Elaborate please. This sentence sounds....irritated. but i assure you this is merely curiosity. Have a great weekend.

I personally use MPC-HC+Haali Media Splitter+lav filters+madvr for higher quality playback and full support for my advanced subtitle effects in foreign shows. I used to despise VLC for many reasons such as inability to play files with ordered chapters, segment linking, block while skipping, subtitle rendering errors, poor performance and no hi10p. I occasionally gave VLC another try every couple of months but it was always crap until it finally hit 2.0. Now the performance and functionality is great but my current setup provides better quality rendering such as up-scaling and down-scaling. I installed VLC on my little cousin's ancient mac mini so it could play the HD cartoons I gave him. The ease of use and auto update function should be great for him.

tl;dr VLC after 2.0 is a great overall media player that finally works properly

[citation][nom]sixdegree[/nom]This is should be a heads up for Microsoft. A free program that works better than your media player. Better do something fast about it or ends up like IE to Mozilla/Chrome.[/citation]
Windows Media player, What is that? And what the hell is IE, Internet Explorer, Never heard of it. No just kidding, but i removed all the stuff of my hdd. For music MediaMonkey, for movies VLC FTW.
