Viewsonic vp171b icon colors

I just received my vp171b from dell peripherals for $431 (keep an eye out at www.xpbargains.com for great dell deals) This display is beautiful...it's even more ergonomic than i thought. One thing though, the icons in Win2k aren't displaying correctly. Some of them are grainy as if being displayed in 256 colors, but windows is set to true color. If anyone knows why this is, i could use some help.
