You're confusing drivers with interface. AHCI is an interface that improves upon the previous IDE interface. That is chosen in BIOS and determines how the HDD or SSD interfaces with the PC. What device driver are you looking for?

And what OS are you using? Win 10?

the live update util found me some drivers.
however new problem.
spent hours loading a large drive while its was in native IDE bios setting.
i was trying to tweak things switched AHCI mode on and proceeded to spend more long hours formatting another drive while in AHCI mode.
I needed to move the files from the first to the other.
the one formatted in AHCI mode doesnt show the partition when switched to NATIVE
and vice versa the Seagate /Acronis ECM driver for accessing extended capacity will not load
in AHCI mode so that puts me in a pickle.
i can access both drives just not at the same time without changing the bios setting.
i thought i might have read mention of finding a away to switch off the AHCI driver after bootup.
