Virtual gaming pc components

I have no clue about pc gaming so building one is not optional. My budget is $4k and I am trying to get a future proof rig that's easily handles virtual reality. Are the components listed below sufficient?

an m2 drive is a lot faster than a ssd its tiny as well

best ssds get around 550/500 read/write

m2 gets around 2000/1500 read/write

if you have 2 of those copying files from one to the other is just ridiculously fast

That sounds like overkill to me, if it's not necessary than I won't bother, this rig will be used solely for gaming. I can stomach the ram memory upgrade but i doubt the motherboard upgrade will significantly improve my gaming experience, if at all.
