Hello Friends

Consider the following scenario

A PC/Laptop has installed VirtualBox. Therefore

Code:
Host -> Guest

Consider the following points:
  • Is mandatory open a PDF file with sensitive data but exists the high risk it is infected by anything
  • The Host is Linux
  • The Guest is Windows with Adobe Reader installed
  • The Guest has disabled the Internet access
  • The Shared Clipboard feature is disabled

Finally:
  • The PDF is opened (remember is highly probable it is infected)
Question

  • Can be the Host be infected through the Guest if is infected?

To your answer if is a no:

Does it change if?:
  • The Shared Clipboard feature is enabled
  • The Shared Folders feature is enabled
  • The Host is Windows

Thank you

Thank

It is not "impossible".

Understood

But the better way would be to download the file directly to/from the Guest. Not in a shared folder in the Host.

Ok, no use Shared Folders.

The PDF files are in a pendrive. It seems should be safe to put the pendrive in the Host to be mounted in the Guest and open the files in "peace". Anyway the host is not going to open directly the files
