Hey guys, a few days ago my pc started to freeze up and not respond. First with images, then my browser then my word program. It kept saying com surrogate wasnt responding and whatnot, when i tried to use the start menu to try to fix it(i read you had enter in some commands to fix it) what ended up happening was that after a few minutes of the start menu not doing anything windows explorer itself froze up and stopped responding, leaving me w just a black screen. I restarted my pc two times in an attempt to put it in safe mode but both times while those lines of coding/ programs/whatever were running down the screen it would juststop. Should i try again? Is there any hope?

Hello... if it's a virus/malware it can only live on your HD/SSD... Typically un-plugging your network connection will slow the activity down, and allow you CPU cycles to maybe walk around your OS and investigate.

A "clean OS install" will remove all existing partitions and allow a fast clean OS for you.

You have said nothing that proves you have a virus.

It sounds like a gradual hard drive failure, and now it refuses to boot.

You need to tell us the details of exactly what errors or "code/programs/whatever" are showing. It is important.

Otherwise it is like saying "My computer doesn't work, help me" and then expecting someone to know exactly what is wrong and how to fix it.

Ok. So i tried a clean install of the OS from the windows 7 disk, however, while loading the windows files it says a software or hardware change has caused it to crash and it crashed. I unplugged the SSD (Where windows is installed) and tried again, and it still crashed when trying to install. I then unplugged the Hard Drive and plugged in the SSD and it loaded windows perfectly. Does this suggest the hard drive has failed/is failing?
Thanks <3
