Hi guys, I recently downloaded a file from torrent, and after the download, some sites now are unable to access like fb, youtube, google and yahoo.

Do you have guys any idea how to clean it?

I didnt do anything yet, except running a quick scan using malware removal tool by Microsoft, btw im using win7 64bit ultimate. I also scanned the file using my avast free and no threats were detected, I'm thinking of performing a full scan of MRT and deleting the file that I downloaded when I get home, and also install malwarebytes if that wont fix it, my last resort will be system restore..

guys i need your advice with this one, thanks.

I would just do a simple reformat to be 100$ sure but it sounds to me the virus has change the local dns file. If you look up the external i.p adress of the website you cant access and refrence it to the local dns you could see if its correct or not and change them back to the correct i.p

yep i also read an article regarding that issue, the virus might have changed my dns or ip settings, I dont want to reformat my pc as much as possible, do you think system restore will fix this? Im regularly creating restore points every month, and the recent one was before i got infected.

sad to hear that, I will just run malwarebytes later and hope that it will detec the virus.

how can i know that my dns that youre saying is changed? how can i restore it to default?

I dont think you understood what I said. Viruses attach them self's to important windows system files. Using a program to get rid of them hurts windows permanently making it pointless. I wouldn't use that program just reformat.
