hey guys.... i had a friend that got a virus... i cant open Comd promt to see whats wrong with it.. can any one tell me how to fix it? the only thing thats in ma mind is to buy a new one or something.. can someone help me?

Create a boot device (either CD/DVD/Flash Drive) with anti-virus enabled and boot from that. Have it scan the hard drive and remove the virus. Otherwise, format and re-install.

hirem boot cd has some free anti virus remover on it. also there are few free virus boot disk from vendors.
