The fan pooped out on my Nvidia 5200, and I found this ATI refurbed card at tigerdirect for only $48 , (plus the $9 ext warranty). That's about all my budget will allow. (I feel a bit sheepish asking here, where the hardware you talk about is so much more expensive. Still, this is probably where I'll get the best answers.) I don't know whether it will work with my system, or if there's a better option. I use Windows XP Pro.

I'm not a gamer, but do a lot of graphics work with Photoshop, Painter, etc. so I like the 1gig of memory, the 128-bit memory interface, and the 725 MHz clock speed on this card.

I have a PC-Chips K8 MoBo (M861G) that has the AGP 8x slot. (Socket 754 and FSB800/DDR400)

My power-supply is the miniumum 300 watt for this Graphics card. (Next on my upgrade list.)

I have an HP L2025 LCD monitor at the moment - (this needs to be upgraded, too). The monitor specs say it's compatible with the following ATI products. I don't know whether the HD 3650 is not listed because it won't work, or because the list is old:
ATI 3D RAGE IIC (PCI)
ATI All-in-Wonder 7200
ATI All-in-Wonder Radeon 7500
ATI All-in-Wonder Radeon 8500
ATI Radeon 7000
ATI FIRE GL2
ATI FIRE GL4
ATI FIRE GL8800
ATI Radeon 7000

It's hard to upgrade piecemeal - I need something that will work with what I have now, but also with better components as I get them.

Here are the specs. I don't know if the DVI only output, as opposed to the S-Video and VGA options on some boards will make any difference to me, since I don't know what it's for! The connections for input seem OK.

Solution
Radeon HD 3650 is not listed because the graphics card is newer than the monitor and HP haven't update the list since.

If your PSU can handle the card and the card can fit into the case and you install the AGP hotfix driver, it will work.

Thanks, Pyree;

I sure hope it will fit the case, don't know why not ...Antec SX600II series mini tower.

I saw something here earlier about needing a hotfifx with this card, and grabbed the URL:
http://support.amd.com/us/kbarticles/Pages/CatalystAGPHotfix.aspx

Do you mean the AMD Catalyst 11.9 Hotfix for XP Pro & Home, or something else?
