I set up a VPN using two Windows XP SP1 computers, one as a server and the
other as a client set up using www.onecomputerguy.com 's instalation steps,
and I am having connection problems. The first time I attempt to connect to
the server, everything works fine. But when I disconnect and try to log back
in, I get a username and password error (Error 691: Access was denied because
the username and/or password was invalid on the domain). I am not using a
domain, and I am currently using a dynamic IP address, but I am changing the
IP address each time I have to log on. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

We probably need more information to advise.

For instance, at the server end, what have you configured for the temporary
IP addresses to be used for the VPN link itself?

What is the nature of the network connection at the server end? Cable? DSL?
Behind NAT router, or directly connected?

What do you mean by this? Which IP address are you changing, and why?

On the "server" side, take a look at the XP "Security" Event log to
see if a more detailed error is given that might shed some light on
the authentication error...
