I have no words to describe how furious I am...
Problem:
So out of the fricking blue geforce Experience says they got an update for me: Game Ready Driver version 397.31 - 25.04.2018 so I went ahead and updated it. After a few minutes I think a windows alert message popped out saying that I had to "restart system to apply changes" or something like that... I thought nothing wrong about that so I did, only after I've found my resolution was switched to 1024 by 768, so I just switched back to 1080p and tried to play a game when I noticed that it was lagging like hell at the menu screen.. I tried to open Nvidia control panel from windows control panel and this error just popped that "NVIDIA Control Panel Application, 8.1.940.0 has stopped working" after which I've went into device manager and I've noticed the alert icon over my GPU, in its device properties I encountered another error: "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)"
So what I tried:
I've used DDU in safe mode to reinstall gpu drivers, didn't work...
I've updated windows 10, although after it prompted me to restart to update itself I saw that it couldn't complete the update and just rolled back changes... not sure that it completed them since...
I've googled this a few times and what I saw others even tried reinstalling windows 10 and still got this error...
How the hell is this possible? A last generation GPU not working with the latest operating system? I deeply regret not buying and AMD card now... and seriously consider switching over if this doesn't get fixed in the next days...
I've also attached a dxdiag in case someone is curious enough to help:
