Want to build a pc with the following componets

-motherboard: ASUS Maximun VII HERO
-CPU: i7-4790k
-GPU: GTX 980 or GTX Titan Black (Which is better? apparently the 980 work better in some game than the Titan Black)
-HDD: seagate 3.5 2tb
-SSD: Kingston 2.5 120GB
-DVD Burner: LG Black 16x
-Cooling (Fan): Cooler Master hyper 212 EVO

*Can i use an x99 motherboard instead of using the maximun VII hero?

*I also need RAM, a nice case, a recommendation for a mouse and keyboard, a single monitor with/without G-synch (worth it?) and a power supply to power the computer.

If you're spending so much on a unlock cpu and a high end motherboard i presume its for OC , in that case you should invest more on your cpu cooler .
For ram , depends on what you will do with the pc , will it be only gaming or video editing .
Case also is very personal , you want a mid tower or a full tower, silent case or a modular one etc..
G-synch is still a baby and a very expensive baby so if you ave the budged why not .
PSU i would go with a corsair ax860i platinum graded.
