My Toshiba C75D-B7300 has by default an atheros QCNFA125 1x1 mini pci-e wireless adapter with which I have always had problems. I really want to upgrade to a newer 802.11ac, 2x2, dual band adapter.
I have been looking at the Intel wireless-AC 9260 and it seems like a really good option for an upgrade, considering that it's really new and low cost; but I'm not really a very tech-savvy guy so I have some questions that are maybe simplier to you people.
Note: I'm willing to take the risk of the upgrade even if nobody points out an actual whitelist from Toshiba.

- The Intel wireless-AC 9260 has a M.2 form factor, does this mean that it won't fit my pci-e slot? I have seen many people in forums saying that it won't, but the Intel product brief shows this (link at the bottom): connector interface M.2: PCIe, USB. Also, the way the pins are located are very similar to my atheros card, except that the Intel 9260 is wider but not more than my pcie slot (about 22mm). Comparassion of the cards, left is the atheros card and rigth the Intel one: https://pasteboard.co/I3YDfdR.png .
- Assuming that the Intel card does enter my slot, will my laptop have compatibility problems with the card?. Consider: computer with AMD processor A8-6410 APU quadcore (maybe old enough to not support the card or just because AMD), the only pci express slot available my motherboard has is a PCIe x1 v2.0 (which will limit the capabilities of the Intel 9260). NOT consider: manufacturer's white/black bios list (couldn't find any type of list to be honest, so if you know please do tell).
- If the Intel 9260 cannot be installed in my laptop (or if it's very probable) could you give me some recommendations of others AC, 2x2, dual band cards? or should I lower my standars because my hardware is not capable enough? Am I doomed to live forever with my atheros card until I change of computer?
Note: I'm willing to take the risk of the upgrade even if nobody points out an actual whitelist from Toshiba.
