I have an emachines ET1831, with a EMCP73VT-PM motherboard.
My PC Specs are:
Intel Celeron 450 @ 2.20GHz
3gb DDR2 ram @ 399MHz
500gb hdd
Nvidia GeForce 7100/Nvidia nForce 630i
I want to upgrade my PC to handle games like Outlast and Dayz
what kind of upgrades are good for it?

Solution

I would recommend you to sell off everything you have for some dollars... except HDD and casing and DVD writer etc.

Then go with this build.

You can spend 300 dollars and add 70 dollars that you get from selling your old stuff.

This is what I can come up with , with such a low budget, and you should be able to play most games with medium settings to high settings.
Well, What was your budget?

Lots of things would need to be upgraded to be able to play Dayz well.

The processor/graphics card/PSU/Motherboard would be start, which basically means it would be best to start a new build and re-use old thins like DVD Drive, HDD for meantime, ect.

Yes, that is a very, very good combo for the price and defiantly look into what build he has suggested. You can make adjustments to that build if you need to.
