Wanting to replace my cpu but dont know what will fit / be the best match.

I got this old cpu that i really feel is brining my comupters performance down quite a bit
and would like some help with what i could upgrade to.
I've got a MSI A68HM Grenade (MS-7891) motherboard
and my current cpu is an AMD Athlon X4 845.
I dont know if it matters but my gpu is a Radeon RX 460.
My computer is fairly solid and it can play most games at medium, sometimes high graphics.
but as mentioned my cpu stops me from playing at a solid fps if i dont higher the priority manually (and this doesn't always work) which takes resources so my discord and other bakground proccesses doesn't work.

I will be thankful for any help you guys can provide

The X4 880K is technically the best CPU you can upgrade to, but the difference compared to your X4 845 is minimal and the upgrade is not worth it.

A real upgrade is getting a ryzen chip, motherboard and RAM.
If you don't have the budget just stick with what you have now and upgrade the platform later.
