wanting to swap drives between x1 carbon and yoga 7i but the latter cant see any drive but original

no matter what i do the weird boot menu of the lenovo yoga 7i cannot see any drive but the original nvme. its not a very user friendly bios like high end thinkpads have either and not at all liking it. but i need to upgrade the drive but until get this resolved guess its gonna stay. unless you got the key to the mystery. its not changing boot drives either thats not even an option in bios....... help!

While most X1 Carbons take m.2 SATA M.2 SSDs (not NVMe), at least they are 2280. Yoga 7i takes a single-sided NVMe 2242 M.2 which is rare and expensive, so how are you fitting a 2280 in there?
