Warranties should cover insects causing damage

Since everyone seems to disagree, what do you think of window-like screens that are removable to blow the dust off, and then re-attach it? This would be ugly but would also be a solution.

Sure. a LOT of cases have those. And not ugly.
My Corsair has a large screen filter on the front, to trap dust being sucked in via the fans.
Can't see it because it is behind the front fascia.

Unless you did it on purpose, I'll be surprise insects can get into the engine

Im just using it as an example for unintentional damage to a part. For an engine the damage would more likely be "water got into my intake during a rainy day and hydrolocked my engine" which would be covered.

no,i wouldnt.to get water in your intake would suggest you left your hood up and the air cleaner off.possible,but not plausible tho it is,it comes under owner negligence.same with your computer.once sold,a car,as well as a computer,and anything else with a warranty,the onus is on the customer to properly maintain or have it maintained by qualified service personnel.look up the conditions of just about any warranty and you will understand what i am saying.

The only times I have seen bugs destroy hardware is when roaches made a nest it them. That's just poor housekeeping and that in no way should be covered by a manufactures standard warranty. I dont want to have to pay extra because some slob can't keep thier stuff clean.
