What's next? Water-cooling DVD drives? Or how about headphones? We need water-cooled headphones. Because the fans on mine just aren't cutting it.

That's a great idea. My ears always get so sweaty.

get open headphones and a velvet/velour like material for the contact bits, do not get anything leathery.

i wear headphones, (sennheiser hd 598) for upwards 12 hours a day and have no sweating issues, but get me a closed headphone with a leathery like padding (AKG K550) and within 5 minutes my head is sweaty.

ok jokes aside, run diskinfo crystall disk info i think its called or speccy and see the temps on your made for the masses ssd, they have same temperature as your mechanical hard disks.

Now think of a pci-e ssd that doesn't stop working all day and night, a semi-workstation on a tv channel or a small server, handling many little files for websites etc.

Passive cooling, like ram heatsinks and perhaps even fans are needed. But yeah if you have a machine like that for work, it already costs enough thousands, if you don't have a server room and your IT built that machine with watercooling then this is an option.

In general this is not for us hobbyists or self employed ppl but for small companies with crazy ITs 😛

You have no idea about the mighty powers of holy water. It truly is the only way to go. It comes signed by Christ the man Himself. EKWB is in the process of building a system to convert Christ's tears from the sky into the Nº1 coolant on Earth. Just wait.

Would using ek holy water as a coolant restrict compatibility to the msi x99 godlike board? 😛

In reading the contents of the responses in this article, it is quite evident that there is a lot of misconception around watercooling - which is also expected based on the volume of people who post about it in the forums or who actually know the reasons and differences between why some coolers are used vs. that of others.

Lets clear up some misunderstanding for those confused about the need of such a Cooler.
You don't invest into a water cooled System because of this SSD Water Cooler.

If you're like me ( http://i.imgur.com/3bck03l.jpg ) then chances are that, despite having a whole lot of ventilation in general, you're still lacking it at this piece of hardware intended location as the airflow is optimized somewhere else.

This is where this tech comes into play.
It's not for those that have plenty airflow.
It's for those that don't have it.

Lulz for seeing people defend this. Even with reduced airflow, if your other components are already water-cooled, the heat is already going out of the case. Plus an SSD, even if it's a PCI one, doesn't generate enough heat to warrant this. Tcase could be at a steady 70-80C, and you still wouldn't need to cool your SSD. Sorry, but this product is a gimmick for idiots with money burning a hole in their pockets.
