Sorry that you are facing some issues with your WD drive.
Do you have data stored on the drive? I assume that you don't, as you've already formatted it.
Apart from that, my suggestion would be to go to Disk Management and see how is the drive recognized over there. Does it require any action. It would be really useful if you can provide a screenshot.
I believe it will not hurt to test the drive with WD's Data Lifeguard Diagnostic tool as well:
