Sorry didn't read the whole site, I just looked at the site and it looked like piracy site that's why I posted my...

If your Windows is OEM than you have to buy new OS and install it
http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/30822-63-windows-motherboard-upgrade-possible

You can still use your old HDD with new PC but you'll need to make a fresh install of the windows.

oem usually found on brand name machines ie hp dell etc.that having been said it may still install and register.its worth a try.if its not oem,in other words a retail copy of windows you have no worries.keep in mind that installing windows on your old drive will erase all data on the drive.since it is windows 8,do you have your product key?if your old computer is still operational you should be able to retrieve your key.again,if you can afford it,get an ssd and do a fresh install of the os on that.

It just says you that motherboard is compatible with Win8 but if your PC has pre-installed OS which is in 99.9% times comes as OEM on pre-built PC's then you have to buy new OS to make fresh/clean install of the windows.
Just read the link that I provided :)

Tom's team doesn't support piracy! Stop recommending people such kind of things. If you continue doing this your account would be permanently BANNED!.

You can install any kind of windows but you have to buy new OS with product key because your current OS will require license key if you change motherboard.
