Stop causing a flame war; do it again and I'll PM a mod, your thread crapping.

Your stupid, WD is closed. I'm not asking for help how to call Western Digital, but was I can recover data by not paying too much.

I already filed an advance RMA request, and it'll take like 3 days for my HD to get there.

Here I will chill....
Your drive is damaged. You can RMA it so call WD and the support person will most likely ask you to tell about the issue and will ask to hear the sound too. After that you will be given the RMA info.

You can't take the drive apart yourself. I have been in WD drives and there are no parts that "beep".

As far as crapping on your thread you wrote in here and I am entitled to comment! You can take it or leave it.
Well your comment is bad, and it gets me no where except pissed, when reaper is trying to help, and someone else is trying to help, but your telling everyone to shut the **** up, mean while, you don't you shut up, and stop replying to this thread unless you have something meaningful and useful to say.

I know about RMA's, seriously, read the above posts.

If you also read, you would see that I said
it makes a beeping noise, I don't know whether this is an internal scraping, or an actual beep from the drive
You should get that sand out of your virgina! By the way there is no "CHEAP" data recovery service! You should watch Leo Lapport and you would know that.

Dude, I gave you a warning.

I've PM'ed a Mod.

When I said stop thread crapping and harassing members, I mean't it. Your flaming is getting me no where, except I have to scroll down through **** loads of crap posted BY YOU.

*sarcasm* Thanks.
Ahhhh so your not a mod but you can give warnings LOL
I think that you should keep stepping crab! By the way you took your Raptor on a ride and broke it LOL Allways back up your data fool!

Yep yep, we definitely should ignore him, he's incurable, I bet he voted for monkey George Bush so he can buy more expensive gasoline. 😀

"That's a fine idea" after the many times I mentioned that you might want to just STFU

So any luck on the HDD? Too bad man, Im sorry, but now you will remember forever to backup your hard drive, I mean before you bring your comp. to your friend house. And heck, your thread brings out one of the most notorious guys in the gang of ignorance to post like a hundred threads, you should be proud of that.

Excuse me? Why are you being so offensive, and swearing. I'm trying to get help, and some of the things you're telling me are worthless.

By cheap I mean't my budget was > $400. Also, sorry TechTV died, but I haven't seen Leo recently.

Also, If you read everything you'd see that I was supposed to do my weekly back-up today

Dude, I gave you a warning.

I didn't say I was a mod, I just said stop doing it or I'll PM a mod.

I took a ride? How would anyone know in which point of time it broke. At my desk, downstairs, in the car, or at the LAN.

Always back-up your data? I mentioned I was supposed to back-up today atleast 4 times.

No man, still waiting for a quote from OnTrack. Waiting for a replacement drive to come in this week.

I was supposed to back-up today, that sucks so much. What a bad day, but god gave me a sign, I was 2 hours late for the LAN because I couldn't find a power cable for my LCD, then It was in my bag with all my other peripherals.

And then my DI-524 blew up, and the Raptor died.

Who talked about voting; for all you know I live in Canada.
Excuse me? Why are you being so offensive, and swearing. I'm trying to get help, and some of the things you're telling me are worthless.
You really do need to get the sand out of your vagina! I hope it doesn't itch too badly?
By cheap I mean't my budget was > $400.
The estimate alone will be about that much.

I could go on yet your issue is simple you broke your Raptor! LOL

Why dont you call them, they have a 24-hr toll free for US and Canada. Let them know, maybe they give you a fast quote or something. And btw, I told you man, dont reply to him, just make him have reasons or Quote to say more stuff.

How did I break my Raptor?

Please, just stop talking, you wasting 2 pages of nothings.

That's emergency service only, this isn't an emergency, but I'll call them tommorow.

I'm glad you asked. You took a working PC and picked it up and threw it in your car and broke it. Then you act all suprised and think someone owes you something. You will go to WD and get a new drive and drive the costs of drives up for all of us. You have too much porn on that drive!

You literaly amaze me. Have you read through the four pages that I've posted in.

Where did you get the idea that I threw my Shuttle into the car?

When did I act surprised and that someone owes me a hard-drive.

Here is a summary of why I'm here.

I was going to LAN, I come to LAN, my computer makes a weird beeping noise. I open the case up, listen to where it's coming from, suprisingly enough from the HD. My friend tells me to post here about the issue, and that they help you and you'd get reply within the hour. So I did, I explained everything i knew about the situation. I was asking whether it's dead, or just it's beeping because something is not right, but fixable. Then I asked for low budget data recovery. I was given a few options. I know about RMA's, and that was the first thing I considered. But If you would read, I stated that I have IMPORTANT data on this drive, and that If it would be recoverable, I would gladly appreciate it.

But no, here you come busting in flaming 2 members, and then repeating yourself numerous times after I told you 3 times.

I'm not asking about getting an RMA on the Raptor, but how to FIX it, and get the data back.

You have too much porn on that drive!
Okay? Does business documents sound like porn? I think not, cut the jokes. I came here for a serious manner, not to joke around with an asshole who can't even help me.

You can recover your songs right off of your i-pod. Start up I-tunes on another computer and connect your i-pod, Don't sinc it with the system (the system will overwrite your songs). go under edit menu, then prefences and select ipod, check the enable disk use check box (you must do this pretty fast because Itunes will disconnect from the ipod if it is not registered to the computer, If you do not get it the first time then simply disconnect the ipod and reconnect it and try again). now you can go to my computer and your ipod will show up like a standard disk drive and you simply copy out the file folders that are on there. I have had to do this myself when my power mac g5 lost a drive (had to use a windows computer) and I had to reload my music. you should see a bunch of file folders on the drive. Copy them to another drive or file folder (External USB drive, Thumb drive, Depending on the number of songs you need off of the Ipod). Then when you get your new raptor drive simply put your songs back on the drive.
If you have any problems you can e-mail me and I will help you.
Hope you find a cheap data recovery product for your other files that were on the drive.
I will not be available on the 3rd due to having to stand duty at the base, but you can still e-mail me or drop a line on this posting (I will check this posting again on the 4th) and I will help you get your songs back off your Ipod (so you have one less thing to worry about recovering.

And here I thought he was personally attacking me, I feel better :)

I have a friend that got 20gig recovered a few months ago, I'll ask him tomorrow who it was with, he only paid $325 and his heads had crashed. Wish I had one of those magnetic sector reader things, I could recover anything!

Did ya know the NSA can read data off the HD even after being zero'd out a number of times? The equipment they use actually senses the excess magnatizum that isn't immediataly wiped from the platters.

So the only thing you can do to stop the NSA from reading the damn file, is either not to write anything on it or just throw it into the ocean or a steel pit, heck, even the terminator died in there, haha. Damn, they can read everything.

Here is a Youtube clip of my HD that isn't SUPPOSED to have a speaker in it. Listen to the sound, and not thats not from a PC speaker. It almost sounds like a modem. It was taken out of a modded XBox where it originally started making the sounds it makes and there is no damn PC speaker in an XBox. I highly doubt it's a platter scrapping or whatever, listen to it, it's a piezo speaker, about the quality of those old music playing birthday cards people used to give. It makes this sound three times in a row as soon as power is connected to it.

Judge for yourself.

That was a Maxtor not WD 🙁

Also, that might mean that my HD has a slight possibility that it has a peizo speaker inside of it. I mean, hard-drive scrapes don't sound like that, and judging by the sound clips people have sent me, it sounds more like a beep then scratching.

As for the iPod, I'm downloading a utility for my Mac to recover all the songs. Thanks for the help Sharkie, I'm going to try it now, If the program doesn't work on my Powerbook, I'll view all files in my old rig and check it out.
