Hello.

My WD80EFz-68UW8NO crashed in my NAS and my data was lost within the NAS, i was able to recover it with disk recovery program in windows.
I got an RMA for the disk from the shop, as it still has exteded warranty (5 yeas) in my country.
I have screenshots of the the disk crash from within my NAS as well as Crystal Disk info (Caution: Uncorrectale sector cound 100). The problem is, then i try to run SeaTools or WD Dashboard, it gives me no errors at all, even with extended testing. So i am afraid of sending it in, because they will probably just send it back to me and i will have to pay a fat fee. I am asking for help as any advice on what to do would be greatly appreciated. Should i send it in, is it enough to get a rplacement drive or will they just send it back to me?

I am afraid of using the disk further, it was used for family photos (uploaded directly to the NAS), i do have backup, but was missing a few months or so of photos, i luckely was able to restore them from this disk. Next time i will use RAID.

Thanks for any help, and excuse my English.

For a no questions Replacement all you need is a copy of that 1 uncorrectable sector.
You don't send it out of your pocket, they give you an RMA number and a shipping label (prepaid).
Follow the instructions given to you for the RMA and you'll be fine.
Get online with a Customer Rep. and do it that way if you want to clear your mind, you can send them the photo of that error.

<Mod Edit> Also HDD Tune does a surface scan, if not in quick mode, the slow mode should catch it.
