A reasonable ammount, of course.
As the game grows and new options are explored [i don't need to list
them all], the interactions between old cards/effects and new
cards/effects can have some unexpected results.
Errata'ing cards helps the game grow.

Besides, it's better than just banninating them, right?

Yea, I figured that out a couple seconds later. Just the way my
newsreader was set, I hit the threads in the wrong order. It
was a very strange request to see out of context.
