This is a difficult problem I've not had success with anywhere else.

I get the following message (fairly frequently) - I can't find where to attach a picture of the problem unfortunately.
The browser displays the message "a web PAGE is slowing DOWN YOUR BROWSER. What would you like to do" and believe me the browser DOES slow down.

I am running Firefox, latest edition and latest Adobe Flash.

It happens not only in facebook - angry birds friends - but also in my mail box (hotmail)

Solution
Being Flash Player the one causing the issue, try reinstalling it, if you go to adobe.com and then into flash player there should be an uninstaller you can download to properly remove it and then reinstall its latest version.
Thats a hard one, never used Imgur before.
I'm sorry - I can only attach them - but you dont have an uploading site.
I have two saved sites to show you (somehow)
Any further suggestions

Ok, well that certainly is a message from Firefox so maybe you're free of ad-awares and such.

Judging from both screenshots the website in common is that "National - Live Feed...", try having firefox open without that website and see if the problem persists, it could be some bug in that specific website causing the slowdown.

Thanks RaDiKal - I have changed the news setting to another one, and will watch that. (tho it did happen in Facebook Angry Birds )

Will try for a couple of days and get back to you.

Aha - it is playing up again and again - whether I use firefox or Chrome.
I just notice when I went into my pics that they all had the "s" icon on, and when I clicked on them (they were supposed to be pics of grandkids) - it says
Error; 'self" is undefined
code 800A1391
Source Microsoft JSScript runtime error.

I havent had a chance to look up the code as yet. I hope I havent lost all the pics.
Some can be opened, but some not.

I was watching an online video when it happened today.

I also had a message "The instruction of 0x00a7ad53 reference memory at 0xa7144800. The memory could not be written. Click on OK to terminate the program"

The heading was FlashPlayerPlugin_23_0_0_207.exe - Application Error

Hi everyone,
This seems to be a closed topic, but I'm having the same problem in Mozilla Firefox browser. I hope that someone can help me with other possible solutions.
The problem with website slowing down browser started a couple of weeks ago on one particular website with a lot of video content (not YT). All other websites were loading without any problem.
I'm administrator of several websites I own and I'm working daily on them. When I tried to open one of them today, I got this annoying issue. The site simply doesn't load at all in Firefox, whereas it loads ok in Chrome.
I've tried the suggested solutions, i.e. refreshing Firefox and reinstalling Flash Player, but it didn't solve the problem. This problem only happens on some websites.
I'm totally frustrated. Any other possible solution to this problem would be very much appreciated.

I tried this, but it didn't help. Any other idea?
The strange thing is that the website performed normally until yesterday. I can't figure out the reason why this is happening all of a sudden. I've tried all my sites and the only one causing this issue is this one http://www.neatandcozyhomeideas.com. It has a slider on home page which I believe is responsible for the problem. If I click on "stop the page" when prompted with the slow down message, the page loads, but the slider displays pictures one under another instead in the slideshow mode.
What do you think?

Well I just got into that website, the tab where I opened it crashed and then got a script warning offering me to stop the script that crashed.

So either there's some problem with that website coding or something similar (issues from it connecting to its database, though there's so many possibilities).

I got the option to enable the debug option to check its coding but that's not really my field, see if you can enable firefox's debug module (google for it) so you can check what's going on with that website.

Thanks for your help, RaDiKal.
The strange thing is that it's only causing this problem in Firefox when loading the home page. I can login as admin and open any post page without a problem. The home page also loads normally in Chrome for me.
I guess I'll have to do some more research on this.
