Not exactly sure what category this question should be placed under, so I apologize in advance. I've been noticing that recently the time that it takes to load webpages has been longer and longer, and it takes longer for the tab to respond. I tried both Firefox and Chrome, so I know it's not a browser issue. This is happening on both my tower and laptop, and both are relatively good spec'd (8550U and 7700K) with enough RAM (16GB and 32GB). However, this issue is very recent, happening at the end of January, and knowing the recent Intel thing with its CPUs, I may be thinking that the issue could be with the CPUs being slower. Then again, this could just be a placebo effect, but is there any kind of explanation for what is going on for me? Thanks.

Hello, Pseudo.

1. While you are browsing the net, open task manager and check your CPU usage. You might have caught some sort of malware. If both of your machines are connected to network, there is a chance that they both caught it. Just to rule out the malware, check out CPU usage, which might slow down your pc.
2. Clean the cache and everything else, except your passwords :). See if that helps.
3. Reboot in safe mode with network support, check if you still find your browsers slow to load web pages.
4. Try loading web browsers in their safe mode / free of any extensions and plug-ins.
5. Try installing a completely new browser and see of it is slow as well. (Opera, Vivaldi, whatever you want to install)

5.a. If you have another hard drive available, install the test browser onto another HD.

None of those work- I tried using both Firefox and Chrome, and their dev versions, and all of them are still giving me the same issue of having slow loading. I also noticed that both browsers began to have low fps, which is really noticeable when scrolling fast on a page. I uninstalled all addons and extensions, and nothing really worked.

Yeah I'll try that- I've been laving multiple updates per week on the laptops, so I think it could be one of those

You got it on the mail - thanks- sorry for the late reply
