[SOLVED] Weird Display Issue with my Primary Monitor.

Recently a strange issue has occurred with my primary ASUS monitor. At least I hope it's the monitor... This odd series of black lines appear at the bottom of the display. It first happened while I was playing a new game. After shutting down the game and moving on with my day I didn't see it again for about two weeks... until tonight.

Now it's back and periodically flashing at the lower 1/16th of my entire display for random intervals. Here's what the display looks like with and without these lines:

I'm using an NVIDIA GTX 1060 card with updated drivers. The monitor in question is an ASUS, model number VN248Q-P.

I'm curious if anyone has seen this before, what could be causing it, and if it is in fact my monitor and not my GPU?

I'm ready to start troubleshooting but I figured I'd ask here before I start unplugging and re-plugging things in, in case this goes away for another two weeks and I can't replicate it. Thanks for your time!

Solution
Well - it may be 3 things:
  • faulty GPU
  • Bad connetion
  • faulty monitor
If assuming you're resolved any connections issues, the only definitive way to rule out either of the other, is to replace either monitor or GPU and use it for an extended period of time.
