Question Weird input issue with Logitech mouse ?

Hi guys,

I've never had any issues with my Logitech G Pro Superlight X Gaming Mouse for the 3+ years that I've had it, that is until last week's G HUB update. Logitech support couldn't help me since it's no longer under warranty so I'm hoping one of you might be able to assist.

The issue is the following: If I press both left and right button simultaneously even for just one millisecond and I keep holding one of them, both are registered as held down until I let go. Buttons are not physically stuck, as they work fine when I only press them one-by-one.

I made this video for better understanding:

What I've tried so far:
  • Reinstalling G HUB
  • Rolling back to an older G HUB version (unsuccessfully because it auto-updates during installation and doesn't let me install offline)
  • Switching on-board memory on/off
  • Connecting the mouse to other computers that have never had G HUB installed
  • Uninstalling G HUB and connecting the mouse with the charging cable
  • Resetting all profiles in G HUB
  • Switching button layouts in G HUB (assigned scroll wheel up to Button 1 and it just kept scrolling up)
  • Cleaning the mouse with canned air

None of these fixed it. Since both buttons work fine on their own, I'm not sure if it is a hardware issue or some kind of bug with the onboard memory.

Please let me know if you've ever had this issue and managed to fix it somehow or if you have any idea what could cause it.

Thank you in advance!

What is supposed to happen when both mouse buttons are simultaneously pressed?

What game/app/utility?

Source?
I'm not sure what you mean. When I press down both buttons at the same time and let go of one, only the input of the one I'm still holding down should be registered. Like with the older Logitech mouse on the video.

In-game examples:
  • In WOW you can run by pressing both buttons at the same time. You hold down B1 and B2 and you character starts running. When you let go of either one of them, your character should stop. In my case it keeps on running unless I release both.
  • In shooter games, if you have ADS on hold and want to fire a single bullet so you click the left button once, your gun will shoot as long as you have your right click held down.

It's not game/app related because it happens on the desktop as well.

Many games and apps allow end users to program in key and button presses for specific actions.

My thought is that, one way or another, any such combinations were directly or indirectly changed.

All too easy sometimes to hit some combination of keys, etc. to alter what happens.

Or third party apps, tools, etc. can do such things - change defaults and so forth.

However, if the behavior is on two different systems then the issue may indeed be more with Windows.

Think about what is common on both systems.

Check System > Accessibillity (Keyboard, Mouse, etc.) Confirm that all are configured as required or expected.

Likewise check Task Manager and Task Scheduler for any unknown or unexpected apps being started or launched.

If nothing is found there are still a couple of other things to check into.
