Hello. I have a specific, really weird problem. When I use WSAD or arrows for movement in some games, it stops after a while (1-2 secconds). The character just stops and i must release the key and press it to walk more, but it stops again after same ammount of time. I tried it in Undertale (using arrows), Hitman 2016 (using WSAD) and Devil Daggers (WSAD). In Witcher 3, it worked fine. I really don't get it, what can cause the problem? I have this keyboard: https://www.alza.cz/EN/c-tech-chiron-d3850611.htm#alternativy
I tried unplugging keyboard, restarting computer, and resetting configuration in some of their app. But I've never did something with macros, settings or whatever. Don't have another keyboard to check if that works fine.
Otherwise, I have Win 10, gtx 1060 6gb, i660k. No apps for key remapping or whatever. Also no viruses in my pc (at least i think it, and antiviruses have the same opinion). Xbox 360 controller works for movement just fine.

Check device manager and see if there are any drivers that can be updated related to your motherboard. You can also check the manufacturers website for new drivers, too.

thanks, I updated all drivers for motherboard, problem still persists after restart. drivers for keyboard checked before post.

Is this wired or wireless? If it is a wired USB keyboard try using a powered USB HUB (think of it as a debug step to isolate power and switch the drive of the signal to the HUB's hardware). If wireless, then you probably will have to live with it unless you place receiver closer.

Hi. I finally have some time to try it. I have wired keyboard. I'm not sure what you think, but I tried all USB ports on my pc, but nothing changed, the problem is still here.

No, I haven't.

I feel really helpless now, what the hell is with my keyboard..

It’s not your keyboard since it happens with other keyboards. It has to be your motherboard. Enter your BIOS and flash it to update it. This may help and fix your problem.

no, nothing is overusing my cpu.

Thanks, but is that really needed?
I found some sites, it seems easy, but can you recommend me some?
Can BIOS update make things worse, and should I do some backup?

The BIOS/UEFI handles the “communication” between the hardware and your operating system. Updates usually consist of improvements to make your hardware work more smoothly with your OS. It may hold the key to making your keyboard work as it should.

You don’t really need to back anything up as the only thing that’s changing is the BIOS chip on your motherboard. It doesn’t affect your hard drive. If it makes you feel better to create a backup then by all means go for it.

Hello, so I finally updated the BIOS.. and the problem still persist. I don't know what to do more, any advice?
The only thing that comes to my mind is to buy another keyboard :/ But it really doesn't seem that it's a keyboard problem..

I tried to rebind keys in various games. No matter which keys I use, the movement is still the same, as I wrote before. I tried changing for example WASD to UHJK.

Do you have Norton antivirus? I did some research and found that it can interfere with your keyboard (for some reason). The issue is something called Constant Guard and GuardedID. Removing these applications could fix your problem.

It is a longshot, but you may also want to run the DirectX diagnostic tool. Not sure where that is at, not where I can check right now, but losing any hardware acceleration may also cause laggy input devices (and DirectX does the hardware acceleration work in many cases).

nope, I haven't, thanks

Thank you, I will look into it :)

Also small (but also big) update, a finally tried another keyboard, and it works just fine. I'll probably try to get my money back for this one and buy a new one, but I'd rather fix the problem..
