Hey Guys,
I have stored all my important backed up files (approx. 2.6 TB) on my Seagate Backup Plus External Desktop HDD. While I was copying files onto the HDD, there was this weird noise that I could hear. While the copy was mid-way it got stuck and then the copy did not finish successfully. I unplugged the HDD and plugged it back again. But now the HDD is only detected and the explorer doesn't load the contents and gets stuck.
I was using Windows. Just to be sure I tried mounting the HDD on Linux (this is a NTFS file system). But no luck. I also got a error on Linux stating "NTFS is either inconsistent, or there is a hardware fault, or it's a SoftRAID/FakeRAID hardware.
I'm afraid this might be a hardware failure.
I have uploaded the audio of the unusual HDD running noise that I am hearing. Please check below links.

Can you please have a listen and share your thoughts/shed some light of what you think might be the issue after listening to the audio?
Also I know that broken HDD recovery is not easy or cheap But is there an alternative to backup the data, other than sending the HDD to a professional recovery service?
